height unique sculpture of Sri Sita Nandan Hanumanji is located at holy temple
Sita Samahit Sthal-Sitamarhi and situated almost midway between Allahabad and
Varanasi just beside the National Highway No-2 on the banks of holy River
Ganges belongs to Bhadohi block under Sant Ravidas Nagar district in the Indian
state of Uttar Pradesh. It is located about 50 kms from Allahabad and well connected
with Allahabad and Varanasi railway line with Jungiganj, the nearest railway
station.
Under the
hillock, there is a cave where another small temple of Hanumanji attracts
thousands of pilgrims daily.
It is said
that this temple is the place where Mata Sita went into the earth when she
willed it while she was living in Maharshi Valmiki’s Ashram in the forest of
Sitamarhi. This place is a well known Hindu pilgrimage and a good tourist spot
with a lot of tourists almost throughout the year.
