Shree Kashtabhanjan Dev Hanumanji Mandir

One of the very famous temple throughout Gujarat is Shree Kashtabhanjan Dev Hanumanji Mandir located at Salangpur (or Sarangpur) village belongs to Barwala taluka comes under Botad district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Salangpur is located about 16 kms from the taluka headquarters Barwala and 11 kms from the district headquarters Botad.

The image of Lord Hanumanji was installed by Sadguru Gopalanand Swami in year 1848.

In Gujarati, 'Sarang' means peacock. "Sarangpur" - a place where peacocks live. There are lots of peacocks in the beautiful gardens of the BAPS Swaminarayan temple. Every year thousands of devotees gather at Sarangpur Hanumanji to celebrate Hanuman Jayanti - the birthday festival of Lord Hanuman.

The image of Hanumanji was installed by Sadguru Gopalanand Swami. According to legends, it is reported that when Sadguru Gopalanand Swami installed the image of Shree Hanumanji, he touched it with a rod and the image came alive and moved. This story has become a charter for the healing ritual performed at this temple. The image of this temple is said to be so powerful that a mere look at it will drive the evil spirits out of the people affected by them.

As the temple is approached the chanting of Hanuman Mantra "ॐ नमो हनुमते भयभंजनाय सुखं कुरु फट् स्वाहा” renders the air. The serene surrounding and the calm atmosphere in which the temple is set, with Shree Hanuman Mantra rendering the air one enters the temple with all piousness.

Shree Makardhwaj Hanuman Temple

Shree Makardhwaj Hanuman Temple well known as Hanuman Dandi Temple is located at Bet Dwarka (or Beyt Dwarka) island belongs to Devbhoomi Dwarka district in the Indian state of Gujarat. It is located about 32 kms from very famous Lord Krishna’s legendary Dwarka. Lord Hanuman with his son Makardhwaj (who was half vanara & half makara) as main temple deity is a rare unique temple in India.

[Story of Makardhwaj in Ramayan:- When Hanuman took a dip in the waters of sea, after burning whole of Lanka with the fire burning on his tail, a drop of his perspiration (sweat-पसीना) fell in to mouth of a mighty fish-cum-reptile like creature-crocodile, thus making it pregnant. The mighty fish was caught by people of Ahiravan, the step brother of Lankesh Ravan, who ruled Patal (the netherworld). When stomach of creature fish was cut open, Markardhwaj was discovered. Ahiravan seeing Makardhwaj’s strength & virility gave him job of guarding the gates of his Kingdom Patal-Puri. Makardhwaj name is derived from creature Makara and depicted as part Makara & part Vanara (monkey). Makardhwaj is sometimes also spelled as Magar-dhwaj - depicted as part Magara (crocodile) & part Vanara. According to Ramayan story, when Ahiravan took sleeping Lord Shri Ram & Lakshman to Patal-Lok, Hanuman followed them to their rescue. At the gate of Patal-Puri, Lord Hanuman was challenged by a creature, who was part Vanara (monkey) & part reptile (makara) i.e. Makardhwaj.]

Shree Makardhwaj Mandir

Shree Makardhwaj, son of Lord Hanuman, rare mandir is located at Odadar village belongs to Porbandar district in the Indian state of Gujarat.

Odadar is a coastal village located around 10 kms from the district head quarters Porbandar and known for the many stone quarries in its vicinity. It is the original village of Odedra Mer people.

Porbandar perhaps best known for being the birthplace of Sudama (Friend of Lord Krishna who used to live here). The area around Sudama’s home is renovated into Sudama Mandir.

Hanuman Dandi Temple

Lord Hanuman with his son Makardhwaj (who was half vanara-monkay and half reptile-makara) rare temple known as “Hanuman Dandi Temple” is located at Bet Dwarka (or Beyt Dwarka) belongs to Devbhoomi Dwarka district in the Indian state of Gujarat.

Bet Dwarka or Beyt Dwarka is 32 kms from main Dwarka and called island because ‘Beyt’ in Gujarati language means island hence the island in Dwarka is called ‘Beyt Dwarka’. One has to take a ferry boat from Okha port jetty to reach this island. The island is part of original Dwarka built by Bhagwan Shri Krishna and he had met his childhood friend Shri Sudama here. Therefore devotees call this place as ‘Bet Dwarka’ where ‘bet’ in Hindi language meaning ‘meeting’.

Bet Dwarka is an inhabited island at mouth of ‘Gulf of Kutch’ situated 3 kms off the coast of Okha. The island is measured northwest to southeast in 13 kms with an average 4 kms in east-west direction. It is a strip of sand and stone situated north of very famous Lord Krishna’s legendary Dwarka Nagari (Devbhoomi Dwarka Nagari is one of the foremost Chardhams, four sacred Hindu pilgrimage sites, in India).

Vasan Hanumanji Temple

51 feet height sky-high marvelous statue of Lord Hanumanji is located in Vasan Hanumanji Temple at Vasan village belongs to Gandhinagar district in the Indian state of Gujarat. It is situated about 10 kms from the state capital city Gandhinagar and 15 kms for the Gujarat’s Manchester Ahmedabad on Mansa-Gandhinagar State Highway No-71.

Lord Hanumanji statue is standing on main highway touch and just opposite to Vasaniya Mahadev Mandir.
