16 feet
height tall Moola Murti of Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple is located at Rambodha
(or Ramboda) village in Wevandon Hills built and maintained by Chinmaya Mission
of Sri Lanka (outside of India). It is situated in the central part of Sri
Lanka about 3200 feet above sea level at a distance of 150 kms from Colombo (3
and half hour) on Kandy-Nuwaraeliya Road (also called PBC Highway).
It is almost
100 to 150 feet above the highway level; it can be reached by taking the road
leading to in or by stairs built from highway to the temple.
It is
believed that Shri Hanumanji set his feet in these holy hills when he was in
search of Bhagwan Shri Ram’s wife Devi Sitaji in Sri Lanka.
The scenic
beauty of valleys and dales of Wevandon Hills is unparalleled. Valley view and natural
reservoir is simply breath taking. The grounds and gardens are beautifully
maintained. The temple is now becomes a great monument of Sri Lanka.
