One of the very
famous temple throughout Gujarat is Shree Kashtabhanjan Dev Hanumanji Mandir located
at Salangpur (or Sarangpur) village belongs to Barwala taluka comes under Botad
district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Salangpur is located about 16 kms from
the taluka headquarters Barwala and 11 kms from the district headquarters
Botad.
The image of
Lord Hanumanji was installed by Sadguru Gopalanand Swami in year 1848.
In Gujarati,
'Sarang' means peacock. "Sarangpur" - a place
where peacocks live. There are lots of peacocks in the
beautiful gardens of the BAPS Swaminarayan temple. Every year thousands of
devotees gather at Sarangpur Hanumanji to celebrate Hanuman Jayanti -
the birthday festival of Lord Hanuman.
