height sky-touch gigantic statue of Lord Shiva is located at Har Ki Pauri;
Haridwar (also spelled Hardwar) belongs to Haridwar district in the Indian
state of Uttarakhand. It is a fascinating idol of Lord Shiva where God is in
standing posture with a trishul in his hand and a snake in his neck. This is rank
fourth tallest idol of Lord Shiva in the world. An ancient city Haridwar is
regarded as one of the seven holiest places (Sapta Puri) to Hindus.
Jai Ganga
Maa Har Ki Pauri is a famous Ghat on the banks of the holy River
Ganges in Haridwar. Literally, "Har" means "Lord Shiva"
who is the God according to Shaivite Rishav Bhagwan school of Hindu theology,
"Ki" means "of" and "Pauri" means
"steps". Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu are believed to have
visited the Brahmakund in Har Ki Pauri in the Vedic times. There is a
large footprint said to belong to Lord Vishnu on a stone wall. This revered
