Superb colorful
big statue of Lord Bajrang Bali is located at Gudiyattam (or Gudiyatham) town
belongs to Vellore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located 31
kms from the district quarters Vellore city, about 160 kms west of state
capital city Chennai and 165 kms southeast of metro city Bangalore.
The town is located near border of Andhra Pradesh state.
India's
first national flag hoisted after Independence was made here (Kota street) by
Kota Venkatachalapathy. This flag was hoisted by India’s first Prime Minister
Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru at Red Fort (Lal Qila, Delhi) on 15th August,
1947. Gudiyatham has a small scale sector manufacturing Safety Matches, Lungis
and Beedis. The Safety Matches industry is second largest in
Tamil Nadu after Sivakasi. Beedis are exported to Pakistan and other
