Hanuman Tok

Hanuman Tok temple is located in the upper reaches of Gangtok belongs to East Sikkim district in the Indian state of Sikkim. The height of this point is approximately 7200 feet. The temple is 11 kms away from Gangtok town and is situated approximately 5 kms rising from White Hall on a bifurcating road of the Gangtok-Nathula Highway.
Hanuman Tok is a Hindu temple complex dedicated to Hanuman, the Monkey God and a mythological character of Ramayan.
According to the local legends, when Hanuman was flying with the “Sanjeevani”(mythological life saving herb) mountain to save Bhagwan Shri Ram's brother Lakshman he rested in the spot where this temple now lies for some time.
